I have been a Yucatan son for over a month and a half, I have tasted almost everything there is in terms of culinary art. Merida has transform me into an experimented human guy , I just love how Merida has evolve in one of the best food in the world, I just would say it is a bit too much condiment and the portions are so scary big!!, beware and take care of the food when you come here. Is not the quality, is the size!

42 degrees Celsius just clears my mind, in fact it erases my mind, can you actually think at this temperature?? , sure you can, just grab a coconut ice cream at the main plaza the neveria colon, and you´ll be in hot heaven!! 


This is what we have so far mounted inside the PEON CONTRERAS theatre!, we still have a lot to put in the theatre but so far is looking fab, it is actually looking better than I expected I think we can manage to finish before the Tuesday, I hope we manage it!!!, I have struggled a bit with the people in Merida,! Its time is different as normal time, they are way slower! But in fact they manage to do everything right with pressure. no pressure, no work, well that’s Latin American way, and that’s how it’s not supposed to be but because we have it in our blood, we have managed to transform that into a good thing.

Travelling now between Merida, Mexico city and Guadalajara, makes me appreciate the time inside the plane, I have been able to articulate my time with the plane, I value the clouds, entering and exiting clouds, observing the world in a perspective I have never imagine. I love o work in the plane and look out the window,

and work again, just like in the metro in Tokyo which I found my time to read and think and learn Japanese, this moment up in the sky is absolutely fantastic. At the end I love to take pictures of people in the plane, it’s the face of them trying to get out the plane. 

Merida is lovely, but too fucking hot, just like Tokyo on summer .

Merida, the white city, the place to be if you want to melt, just like Japan, this weather is so humid; you could make a forest out of concrete floor. It is inevitable, but it is as well intensive and cool, I’m making the opera and have found some interesting things in Merida, I think Merida is wonderful to make friends.

As I was flying toward Merida I saw he magnificent Popocatepetl, the biggest volcano in Mexican about to make eruption, so impressive. It is a cleaning up of the inside of the earth, just as we should do it sometimes.

Mexico City, I´m inside your mouth, becoming wiser every time I see one of your creatures talk to me and offers me a little bit of chilangoles!! Would I really enjoy my stay in Mexico City if my closest friends weren’t here living? , well all I know is that I missed two  McCartney’s concert in Mexico city, and I´m kind of sad about it  but instead I spent time with this couple of great people and  enjoyed my new little friend. The best of Mexico and Switzerland in this 50 cm guy!!

Tomorrow I go to Merida to go on with the Samson and Delilah opera .

Being inside a work limbo, and making a pause in my adventure in Japan, I have returned to my motherland,  For some reason, every time I travel around the world I have an invitation of my opera director Cesar Piña to make an Opera in Mexico,  well even if I’m tempted in ´saying NO, I can´t reject those invitations, because, He has been the one who submerged me in opera , I have worked with different people as well, but, working with Piña is a fascinating experience.

I talked to Severine about going for two months to Mexico and with some regrets because we are not meeting for two months which is a pity if she is my love one, But in a sense is good because our relation has been always with little pauses not seeing each other and that is for me a great thing in a couple, because we have our whole life ahead and little breaks reinforce our love for one another.

Mexico, being here has been somewhat mind refreshing,   MEXICO CITY-MERIDA-MEXICO CITY-GUADALAJARA-MERIDA-MEXICO CITY- ESTADO DE MEXICO. This has been my itinerary for the past three weeks, and I have been somewhat thinking about my future as a professional and as husband, friend and further rolls I´ll acquire.

I have been re entering the virtue of imagination. With this 4 or 5 places I’ve been, I ve been living in hotels for the past three weeks, becoming an isolated man, in some ways, but  I have been re thinking about Mexico and Japan, how the relations and non relations  of this strange countries encounter.
