DAY 4 UDON, JUST OUTSIDE SHINJU-KU STATION GOING TO OPERA THEATRE, IN HANAMARU FAST , SUPER FAST FOOD COMPANY

It was in a way a good dream to start this day, Interesting enough was the day inside the New National Theatre, incredibly awesome to get to know Mr. isono , Technical manager of the opera house, and so it began my time in Tokyo, professionally speaking,

So we enter the guts of the main stage, opera stage, after looking around all the technical possibilities the theatre have ( which are of course impressive) we took a tour to the set of la traviatta that was playing at that moment in NNT, La Traviatta, staged by an Italian company Made a semi traditional design for our contemporary eyes, but it was impressive not the stage design itself ( which actually al thou it is traditional, the details, are perfect) but rather the movement of the stage between scenes.

The Stages moved from side to side, and the effect was made more efficient by moving the furniture by rails, from side to side, perfect trompe d oleil a la early Disney animation.

I also realized how printing in linoleum is a great answer to designed stage floors, it’s a cool effect, the only problem is that it makes it flat , and if you are not careful with lights, it might make a light line from side to side reflecting the upper lights

Lightings at the opera where really well lightened, basic great washes, not so many special lights, but perfect on what the opera needed, with a bright cyclorama.
